About Teen Mindfulness
What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness promotes physical and mental well-being as well as character and ethical development. Many people find that it just makes them happier, recognizing unhealthy patterns of thinking and reacting to life experience without judgement.
MBSRjunior is a program specifically designed for teens to handle stress and cope with physical and emotional challenges. It is based on MBSR for adults with many inspirations from well-known “Mindfulness for Teens” practitioners (Dzung Vo, Gina Biegel, Christopher Willard, Daniel Rechtschaffen, Susan Kaiser-Greenland).
The course is designed to guide teens through challenges in their lives. In participating they will be able to make mindfulness a sustainable tool in their lives that supports them in coping with their challenges on every level.
MBSRjunior teaches teens formal and informal mindfulness practices. They learn techniques to cope with stress and better recognize the good things in their lives. The course consists of 8 weekly sessions, each session 90 minutes long.
To make this course successful participants are asked to commit to a daily 30-minute practice.
